So another member asked for some pics of my LED 3rd Brake Light install. So I figured id post a new thread.

Heres the story. My OEM light kept going out and was all heat/sun cracked and generally looked like junk, so i did a little research and decided on a Bentley/Audi type LED light.

I bought (2) 1/2 Meter 40" high powered strips and soldered them together. (the lower power ones come in 1M length but I wanted it to be BRIGHT)

It has 3m double stick tape on the back so it was perfect. Mounted it right on the edge of the headliner, cant see the strip from in the car and is in the perfect spot when it lights up. I ordered a bulb out warning resistor, too, but turns out I didnt need it. I wired it to the existing wiring and ran the wire up the C-Pillar hidden behind so its not visible. Only drawback so far is that since the strip isnt insulated from the cabin, some light lights up the rear deck, no biggie though and isn't bothersome. All in all i love the way it turned out

Heres some pics.

I am definitely going to look into doing this as my high mount is all sun beaten as well!

I'd love to do something like this on a smaller scale.
