key switch

I have a 99 c230 kompresser my ignition switch is going out. When the key is on and you are driving the key is loose in the switch. my sunroof or the buttons on the rearview mirror won't work or the engine will start missing and get a code usually 302 . If I push up or in on the key I can make the sunroof work or the car will run better. Is there any way to install a normal key switch? I need some info on this please.

Your only option is a new EIS unit and a new smart key. DAS 3 ignition you will not be able to crack, rewire, Hotwire ect.

Parts must be new and are TRP (theft related parts) so proof that it's your car (registration) and your ID will be needed. EIS can only be programme via SDS so your stuck with taking it to the dealer at this point or an independant shop that knows what they are doing and have an SDS.

That is not what I wanted to hear but I knew that is what your answer would be. I guess I was hoping for a cheaper way.
