how to program my gate clicker and garage door

Im trying to figure out how to sync my gate and garage door clicker to my 2000 c280. Help pls! Thanks!!

Should be described onthe Owner's Manual. Though I must say, even after all these years I still cannot figure it out.

Unfortunately wheni bought the car the previous owner lost the manual. I tried pointing the clicker to the sensor on the rear view mirrors (didn't work. any other suggestions?

if i remember right, you have to press buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously until it blinks... then while pressing desired button, press clicker until blinking light goes steady...
