I decided to change the fuel filter as it looked rather old. While I was doing that I removed the f/filter and f/pump mounting brackets - one to the chassis and one for both filter & pump connected together by four insulating rubber mounts, both brackets/carriers were very rusty. Cleaned them up and sprayed them with a paint suitable for rusty metal. Also I changed the diff oil. So, another few jobs done. It all very slow but I'm getting there. :)

Sorry, I've just realised how crap the photo's are. :( Will do better next time ;)

A few more photo's, hopefully these are a bit better. A couple of points worth noting. The carriers are made of very light metal (cheap sh1t) and rust badly making it very easy to bend when trying to undo the nuts that hold on the black plastic cover. Also, you need to be careful when refitting the screw that clamps both the filter & pump. It can be difficult to line up as it needs to go thru the carrier twice and then into the carrier on the chassis. Worth making sure the threads on the screw and carrier are clean & lubricated first.

The first one is where I had the centre exhaust box deleted and just a straight pipe welded in.

I just happened to do these two jobs myself a few weeks ago, rear diff fluid + fuel filter.

What did you notice after replacing the central muffler box with the straight pipe? I'd like to re-do my exhaust as well one day.

Wow, your car is certainly clean underneath, no rust there. As for the exhaust centre box delete, didn't notice any difference power wise, not surprised really as the box is straight thru anyway. It's heavy so the car weight has come down by a few kg's. Of course there's a noise difference, a rasp starts at 2500rpm up to about 3500/3750rpm. Not too loud imo and there's also a nice burble at idle. I got it done just for a bit of fun while the exhaust hanger was being welded up as it was cracked.
