Trunk/Liftgate Switch doesn't work, help please!

Hey ever since I've bought my car, a 1999 C230 KOMPRESSOR, I can't open the trunk with the switch shown above. It only opens by holding the button on the key. The button on the switch has an illuminated red LED when the trunk is open, so I guess there is power going to it. Anyone have an idea what may be the problem, any sort of response is greatly appreciated! thank you fellow members!

Try pushing on the back while you lift the button to hold it in contact with the button, mine has that problem too and i have to do that to make it work. Its just the hing on the plastic button is broken if its like mine

Take it apart and check the connectors. Becuase it is right below the cup holder, maybe something sticky or corrosive got under there.
