you'll need thicker spring pads to avoid rubbing issues
40mm is a huge drop, springs and arches will swallow the top part on your tires

hmmm.. Thanks kowalski.. Will watch out for that.

What I suggest you do is install them and be prepared just for a temporary fitment. You'll need to drop the car on the ground and slowly drive it around the block to settle the suspension. Then measure what you have fender height wise. If you think you need to go up lets say 10mm, then keep in mind that a 5mm increae in spring pad height will double at the fender lip. Pull them back out and order the apporpriate springpads. Then when you havee everything and are ready you can install it all to the exact desired height and then pay for an alignment. You WILL need an alignment when finished.

its alot of work, but if you rely on daily use of the car then doing the spring install twice is your best option for exact desired ride height. The Bilsteins will raise the car just a tad because they are high pressure Monotube gas charged. if you only put the Bilsteins on right now the car would probably raise about 3-5mm on its own from the new shocks

Looks prefect. I love to see when the wheel diameter flows inside the radius of the fender lip perfectly- well done.

MysticIce- Can you tell me what spring pad #'s you ended up using on both front and rear?

There seems to be no rhyme of reason for the pics and info I am seeing. I see two cars MBsickness has- one a C280 (early flat springs) with H&R 1.4/1.3 springs on #1 fronts and #3 rears(perfect gaps)/ then a C43 heavier nosed car on saches with #5 fronts gapped slightly more thasn his c280 and #1 rears slightly less than the c280, but not as low to lok like a change from #3 to #1 which should be about 1"+ (he looks more like 1-4"-1/2" difference). Then Brian (Vixen) has H&R lates (1.4/1.3) on his C280 with #3 fronts tucked/ and #4 rears perfect gap.

The fronts seem logical, but are the back weights different on these cars or maybe some of you are running heavy things in the car like speaker boxes etc- becasue the rears seem to sit differently than what the spring pads should suggest to me.

worride if I go with the C43 supersoprt rears that I can not keep the car high enough for my liking. I do not want the tires tucked, but I want the higher spring rates. Wish these spring companys would list spring coil rates and actaul spec measurements of the coil wire. I can;t find any info on these boards where members have posted spring specs (ie- wire diameter, free height, # of coil loops) except where Dearlove and I did a little exchange on the early and late style spring types.
