+1, if you got the money. Otherwise sell it and but a C36 or C43.

Would dropping a C36 engine into it do any good or should I just get the whole C36?

A c36 engine swap would be very simple. All c36s started life as finished c280s and amg yanked the engine interior and suspension and completely redid it.

Only 500 c36s ever came here. Numbers of them have been crashed and those rare engines are wasting away. Can snag one for about a grand.

for the real thing you have to spend big bucks. Turbo it. 400hp easily.

C36 engines don't turbo as well. It's been tried.

I'd go an e320 engine, then turbo that

+1

3.2 m104 is curiously more responsive and much quicker to rev than the 2.8. Also a direct swap with no modifications. And those engines are easy to come by in junk yards.

How much are you looking at all in, presuming no labour charges?

Im planning on doing a twin turbo set up 3.2 M104 on my 190E. sound like the best route to go. Other than swapping in a for 302 V8 like my buddys doing to his 190E, 500hp naturally aspirated beast it will be.

You could have some headers made and get your cams reground to C36 spec or hotter as well. If you wanted to go hard core NA do ITBs. There is also the requisite chip tune and exhaust/intake work.

N/A will only get you so far, forced induction is the way to go. Cheaper too than build a High hp N/A motor.

What is the parts list for a basic ITB setup on our car outa curiousity?

There is no basic itb setup. Everything would have to be custom built. Probably somBMW I6 itbs modified to fit the m104 head. Standalone ECU like megasquirt. If it was 97 you'd be out of luck because of the electronic trans. All the linkages mated up to the throttle cable. Lots of aluminum welding. End result.. Awesome sound, maybe 20hp. By having to go standalone and all the fab a turbo would give a lot more power.
