Ok guys i really need your help, this first link is the tensioner i have on my 1999 C230 Kompressor right now. There is no place for the shock to mount, its just the assembly itself. I noticed this thinking it was the wrong one but the new one (second link) doesnt fit right because of the shock...

Can anyone show me a picture of their tensioner assembly close up and how its installed?? I pit the proper one on but the pulley hit the shock so i spaced the shock out and today the belt popped off after driving it all day sunday just fine... Pictures or advoce would be very helpful, thank you in advance!

I just had a look at the one on my car. Well, the bad news is there's little to see or photo. Would you like a photo anyway?

Would it be at all possible for you to take off the pulley and take a picture or to behind it of how the shock is mounted? That would be a HUGE help if you could, i know its a 15mm nut to remove and thats all after you take the belt off

Sorry, Mike. It's a bit too late to do that, after 9.30pm here and I've no garage.

Have a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXYzrmE0hfo

Also here's photos I took just before losing light. No doubt no real help but the best I can do.

Thank you for the pictures, i didnt realise it was so late over there. Ive watched that video but he had no problems with it :( If it is at all possible for you to take pics in the sunlight without the pulley on it would be much appreciated. Looking at yours i cannot figure out how yours has so much clearance, i had to space mine out to work at all. Thank you again john

Mike, won't be able to do it tomorrow off early to work, pity I didn't know of your problem sooner. Also, I'd presume it's the exact same set up on any M111 engine so might be worth looking at one near by or maybe somebody here can help and they'll have the advantage of being in a similar time zone. What gets me is how you've ended up with a different clearance especially since there ain't many parts involved?

Im still having trouble with this... i have to space the shock out to fit properly on the tensioner to not hit the pulley and idk what the problem is but its driving me nuts.. any advice or help? Last time it worked for a day with washers for space then it popped off and tried to eat a hole in the water pump housing
