Hi! :)

I'm new around and I'm not from the States.
I'm from Portugal, across the Atlantic... Previous owner of a C220 SC W203 and now, a recent owner of a C250TD W202 model.

I'm having a strange problem with my climat control light.
I have read somewhere that the light specs should be 12V 1.2W. Is this correct?

My car had a 12V 2W bulb on it.
The light on the climat control was much weaker than any other on the car. Half the bright... or less.
So I went to and independent store to buy a new one. Placed it and I still have the same problem. It seems I have a candle inside my AC control unit.

Any ideas? Shouldn't a 2W bulb give even more light than 1.2W?
Does this problem have anything to do with the bulb? Or any other source?
Anyone ever experienced this?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

it depends... if your socket is 1.2 watts, no matter what bulb wattage you put it will only get 1.2 watts...

do you mean the ambient light?

Hi, Thanks for your answer. :)

Well... a 2W lamp receiving only 1.2W... is the same thing then having a dimmed light to 50%.

I mean that the AC control light is like half (or less) bright, compared to any other lights in the car (cluster, window buttons, etc).
It's really frustrating

Lots of auto parts stores should carry pigtail connectors for the bulb. what type of bulb is it?
