Hands down the best deal on OBD technology is buying a bluetooth scanner for $20-$30 bucks and then a $5 app in the app store called "Torque" on your android smartphone or tablet.
Seriously. Can't stress this enough. Absolutely destroys $1,000 OBD scanners.

Ah, Sulco you are the 2nd member now to mention the Bluetooth job. Must investigate.

I myself have some software and a USB-to-OBDII scanner. You can use your computer and it gives LOTS of info. I think mine's an ELM 327 interface.

Do you have a link to this bluetooth scanner device? I want to try this. I keep getting a p0411 code for the faulty secondary air system. I would like t see if this Torque scanning app wll more closely pinpoint codes like the MB dealership diagnostics do.

Hi, guys. Well, I ended up getting this one.

About $42 delivered plus another $16 for the 38 pin to 16 pin OBD cable (Euro W202's are OBD1) & a 1m lead extension so I can mount it in the car. It's a very nice size, colour screen making it very easy to read and also it's easy to use.
I would have purchased a suitable OBD for a Smart phone as this imo is the best way to go but it would have meant buying a new phone. I will get one but it'll next year as I prefer to spend the extra money on the car itself right now.

Is there a scan tool that will read the older '94 MB I've used the OBDI - II from autozone to read the codes before ....besides going to stealership is there something else I should be using?

Not that I know of. From what I understand, it's just that having an OBD1 car you won't get the same amount of info from the scanner as you would with an OBD2 car.

I have a Actron code reader I used to pull codes out of my 94 c220- it works fine for just code reading.

What I am looking for is an OBD2 scan tool, not just a code reader. One that gives live telemetry like the MB dealership diagnostic machines.
