Last night while going out for nice late night cruise, I hear a helicopter/motorcycle noise. I realize it was coming from my car. I knew right away it was my flex joint. I had the same problem on my c230k. I guess this is the price for driving a high torque car. Only if i had a lift I'd replace them myself.

Not a big deal. A lot of cars have them.

It is however a big deal if you don't catch yours going bad, at speed the driveline can saw through the trans tunnel and you also have the airbag SRS module north of the shifter; seen this scenario and the driver got punched in the face with the airbag. $80 flex coupler vs. totalled 202 and a black eye.

Ok just got back from the mechanic bad news is i still hear the problem. Good news is i had my flex joints replaced front and back an my car polished for 200 bucks. Now i have to wait till saturday to find out my real problem.

Its a huge possibility, i just hope its not the tranny i recently did the service and i would hope at 57k miles the tranny would still be ok.

WAIT !!! You just had the car at the Indy and had the flex joints done, and he could not tell you what or where the problem/noise was coming from? HHMMM....maybe it's just me or my Indy but when I have him do something, such as a tune up, he also looks the car over and lets me know what is wearing or will possibly need repair/replacing soon......

It was kinda my fault i had insisted it was the flex joint so they replaced that part only. They didn't even charge me since they buy all their parts from me. I did not want to be a pest and keep going back. Im having my guy who works at mercedes look at it saturday.

what's the mileage on your c43?
mine is approx 65000 miles, 14 years of age and sporty driving is killing rubbers.
when should these flexdiscs be changed, even at tiny crax?

Mine has 57k miles, the flexjoints still had a lot of life in them, only tiny cracks in the rubber. The metal washers were still tight inside the rubber. I would be cautious though my c230k's went bad at 116k miles but i would redline that car at almost every shit, I am much more gentle with the c43.
