hi there....i'm trying to retrofit a w210 e280 cluster in my 94 w202 c180..is it possible? i only want the speedo, water temp, rev counter, fuel gauge, clock and trip to show up on the w210 cluster....any advices?

I'm pretty sure it will work, but you need to make sure you're using the correct year. I'm not sure how compatible a pre-update is with an updated w210 cluster. I'd make sure I had a 96 w210 cluster just to be safe.

this is the old style cluster
costin i have one for sale if you're interested?
you have AMG styling parts on your car why not a cluster?
Hello!,
Have you checked the cluster plugs are same? epc shows the plugs are different part number back in 94/95/96 when the VDO ECM's were run.
Dennis,How close is the 210 cluster to fitting the 202 dash does it stick out a little at the bottom?. just a thought but you may be able to swap the 202 housing over to the pre-update 210 gauges, you would need to check the side buttons fitment problems.

housing on w210 cluster is a bit wider than on w202, it will stick out a bit from the panel.
i was thinking about scavenging certain parts from the 300 cluster and transplant them to the w202 cluster, i would leave out the side clusters and only remove everything connected to the 300 speedo

i guess i speeled it my way, ha ha
Hmm, I cannot load the XPS mercedes wiring file I need a converter, however looking at the drawing for a 99 ME2.0 the ICM uses CAN for speed and rev's so will very likely be same as W210. I know this was the case for my old 97 C230k.
I will try a converter later this week but I am away for a few days to work on the C43.

anywas it is impossible to adapt the w210 cluster in the pre facelift w202....there are different ecu systems:)
