Called up Dyno-Comp and had them make me some M111 Kompressor headers. Hopefully they will be here by the end of the week.

The header is put on and all good to go. No leaks at the head and it fit up perfectly, the only problem is the idler arm, and idler arm mount are in the way. Had the idler arm trimmed as well as the idler arm mount trimmed. We also had to cut the downpipe off at the collector and make our own. It is a 2.25" collector and i ran it to 2.5" pipe all the way back with a custom exhaust setup. The thing is an animal, I already had a tune on it but with this the thing breaks the 245's lose no problem from a stop and at a roll. Really woke the car up, revs quicker and gained both top and bottom end. The quality of the header is also top notch with some gorgeous welds.

It cost $1000 but it definitely flows... They so orders, they hand make each one when someone requests it but just be ready to do some modification to have it fit. They shipped to FL for $60

I notice they have a 2.3l pully u have that ? if so what mm is it ? if not anyone know ?
Header looks really good, it has to be a decent upgrade in flow over that OE log!
Just a thought, with it being quit long and with the flexi gone do you think the header will be stressed by engine movement at the head flange?

u can buy another flex pipe at auto whore for 30 something
I agree pagz it should have one on it
but a rwd motor puts less stress on exhaust without a flex pipe than a fwd would
a rwd will only sway left and right whereas a fwd will sway up and down and stress it more
hence one reason a flex pipe was made u rarely see one on a rwd back in the day
but the benefits of one are too great it stops flexing on the headers
it eliminates a lot of vibrations down the line of exhaust and you don't have the tail pipes waging like a dog lol
i should call them up for a quote on a log style turbo manifold.. local tuner wanted 12-1500 bucks for it. If that was a g i cant see a turbo manny being much more.

Pulley is next, I had to let the exhaust flow some before I stuff more boost to it lol They are a huge upgrade and they do vibrate a bit but there's just not much room with the idler arm in the way. They are made for a c230 coupe which must have rack and pinion because there is like no room. I may look into that though, I need to do a transmission service, replace the leaking pilot bushing and cooler lines before it fills my tcu, and fix my leaking cam adjuster before I do much else though. They will definitely make you one but you'd have to take them the car

pull the header out and just smack a slight dent to clear it I wont hurt anything most exausht guys actually do It a lot

They asked if I wanted to but then that cylinder runs worse than the rest
Vaspen,
Your right flexi will help alot, these engines move around more than most ;)
don't want to hear any complaints about lack of space, over here we get the steering box on that side =P... you'd be lucky to get half that header past ^^. haha

The thing with a flex pipe is I'd have to put it so far down that it wouldn't really help my whole header vibration, it likes to hit my idler arm mount.. I guess I can't complain about space then because that sounds terrible lol

Probably gonna have a lot of questions for you in the future pagz :)
Np, had a fair amount of experience on the M111 exhausts over the years, maybe two systems on the kompressor and 3 on the turbo, the last one was best by far because it had good ground clearance and the flexi's made the engine feel much smoother.
If not possible to install vertically at the base of the header you could install a flexi in the centre of the dog leg between the gearbox support and the centre muffler/or cat, although not ideal that should provide some relief under twist.
This wont help your header to steering mount contact, not many options there - modify the header or modify the obstruction :)

I may have to give that a try, a flexi only cost $30-40 so it's definitely worth it.
Mike,
Also if you have only moderate contact with the chassis ie only under heavy load you could install the engine mounts from a M113, slightly more vibration but much less engine movement.

Hadn't thought of that, thanks for the ideas :) sent you a pm as well

or try a engine dampener and new motor bushings (if im saying these right lol I forget )
it should take power loss of travel and move the motor less with new polyurethane under there and a shock
Be carful if you go with a damper, There isnt really anywhere to mount it on the 202(no strut tower) and the magnesium valve cover is very soft so it would ideally need to go against the head. also you might induce a fair amount of vibration.
The standard M113 mounts make a good decrease in movement, Not sure why the AMG M113's have a different part # I would assume they are slightly harder again.

hmmm could you fab something to mount to the........ :\ hm dno ... lol
maby the cherry picker bracket ? mine has one on the driverside in the back up top
I have no idea if it would work lol but just a thought I would have to really look in there XD

I got a flex pipe in the mail :) Also I am porting the supercharger and doing a setup similar to Subby from benzworld but with my header and a full 2.5 inch exhaust, stay tuned

Ported it a little then used some 3000 grit and she's nice and smooth now. The bearings were just beginning to get play at 173,000 miles, not bad! I need to change this to my build thread lol

Got the flex pipe on and the supercharger back in with the 87mm supercharger pulley. Also have the 4 bar FPR in.
If anyone wants to rebuilt the supercharger have a look at zzperformance. They have a lot for the M62, reasonable prices and quick shipping

Just got the ASP crank pulley on today and the cooler spark plugs. The thing is a beast! Needs a tune though, I can feel it pulling timing and boost

Sent off the ecu to be tuned after some data logging. She will spin a little of second now but hopefully after this it will be much better

Got my ME back today and put in. What a difference! I'm glad I have the factory installed limited slip diff, and even then i laid 2 black marks all the way through first. Very happy I did all these modifications, it is a properly quick car

Hi,
I'm very curius about the results you've got. :)
I've been using the below app for a while and it proves very accurate. Can you post some results.

P.S. It's a bit tricky at the begining to get it to work properly. :)

I have the Dashcommand app but I'm not sure of how accurate that one is compared to this one

I can tell you that PerfExpert is VERY accurate.
Only down side is it calculates crank HP.

I may have to try it. I am going to try and adapt my MAF and well every sensor at my training facility with the SDS and see how it helps. I have a nice flat spot and I know I'm nearing the limit of the MAF, I may have to go to a different MAF if I can't make this one happy. I know many guys put in a BMW MAF but I'm not sure that they have access to the SDS to adapt it to the extra air and higher values. The tune is spot on just need to adapt everything.
