So i purchased 94 c280 with engine and transmission issues. So what would you guys recommend for a engine swap that has more power and that bolts in any advice would be great

Engine from 94 to 96 E320 for 20 more hp.

Or a very very rare engine from a 95 to 96 C36 AMG. GOD SPEED.

A C43 (deluxe, hand-built, limited production model with 307hp) costs pretty much the same as a good condition 94 C280 at this point.

That being said, I had a 1994 C280 from 1999 until 2011. Loved it. Wonderful car that was rock solid, fun to drive, and not "slow" (but it wasn't fast, either). I could be totally happy with just another C280.

I picked car up for next to nothing because has nice body and interior. I wanna build it and make it something different you dont see to many built c280s. I know this is considered sin by many Mercedes guys but I have a toyota 1jz motor setting in my garage i was gonna put in my SC300 but Im strongly considering looking into how much work it would be to drop that motor in. Im having trouble finding a good engine from mercedes to build.
