Hi all :)

I just had the traction control fail on me while i was going around a low speed right hand corner, both ABS and BAS ESP lights came on and the car went sideways abit due to loose surface.

I tried stopping, then going lock to lock which made no difference, stopping engine and starting again fixed it. Traction control worked again then.

What might cause this? Could there be a faulty relay suffering from heat soak? I had driven the car about 40 klms prior, then parked for about 30 minutes. Its done this once before too, yet works perfectly fine any other time.

Thanks in advance :)

Brake lights work, seems like an intermitant fault that could become quite hard to find...

You would have to scan for fault codes. But a quick guess- brake lamp switch. Even though you may have brake lights, the switch can still be bad.

Oh ok, is it a multi part switch?

It was fine all day today. I had my foot on the throttle when this occured though, although i had just come from the brake a few seconds prior.
