Hello everyone, haven't been back in a while and I hope everyone is well.

the steering in my 1999 C230K has developed a moaning noise that comes from the engine bay when I turn the steering wheel at very low speeds (pulling into or out of a parking space mainly) It's annoying and pretty loud.

Is the power steering pump starting to go out? or is there some sort of leak in the system? I haven't found any dripping or anything like that. during normal driving, the steering is perfect.

Thank in advance for reading!

Check p/s fluid level first.

when your turning, your not holding it all the way hard by force are you ?
that will kill a power steering pump faster than you can burn a set of tires (I usualy hit that point gently then back it off a inch )
I ask because if you are it will make a noise like that

but in my semi truck I had the power steering filter changed 3 times and it still whined like that it was the motor went out (if you replace your pump make shure to flush your lines as the diesel mechanics that did mine didnt do that and debri clogged 2 more pumps lol )
