The original alternator just gave up the ghost today, so I need to order one and install it.

If anybody has done this job I'd appreciate the input. Also what they may recommend for an aftermarket alternator.

Thanks.

factory always is the easiest(try napa or autozone ) but at most its a 4-5 tool job there usualy easy to replace
first unplug battery
2 un plug all connections to the alternator
3loosen the belt tension however your model is set up (don't take the belt off completely just need to slip it off the alternator pully )
4 unbolt the 2-3 bolts holding the alternator
reverse instructions to install new
hopefully your alternator is a top mount it makes it all the easier lol watch any alternator replacement vid on youtube its virtually the same for all cars

Thanks man, much appreciated.

I just replaced that belt last month and was praying that tensioner would not break. I know they are prone to going bad. This one is about three years old, so hopefully no issue when I loosen it up.

its an easy install I own an alternator rebuild shop. That year came with either a valeo or bosh unit, a fair price would be $120 for a rebuild unit.
