97 C280 immobiliser faulty

Hey guys
Anybody know how to disengage the immobiliser on the Das 2 I think it is. The little box under the passenger side(SA is RHD) footwell had been changed before but seems like it's starting to act up again. I've read that it can be deactivated some how but nobody puts it up for the public to see which is a good thing.

So if anybody can share via pm please do. Remo I'm sure you're the man for this Q

Come on guys I'm sure somebody knows how to bypass this system. It seems like a common problem on these models

I've never came across needing to bypass the immo.

From what I remember its built into your ME on Das 2. Could be wrong.

Ok thanks. Car will start sometimes. Most times it will not

Keys go bad, K40 go bad, ig switch ect

When you turn the key on the fuel pump doesn't buzz can't run a diagnostic as it says the key is not on. Also the rear view mirror lights flash alternatively. When it does start the rvm mirror does not flash.

Yes cluster lights up and starter turns over but no start.

Not sure what you mean by HHT Remo

What are you using as scan tool? I'm assuming SDS? HHT is what the SDS talk to the early cars through, later went to Xentry (much nicer IMO)

I'm using car soft 7.4 at the moment.

Nope none. When the rvm stops flashing I'm able to read codes " Unauthorised attempt to start vehicle"

So the immo module is telling you there's an unathorised attemp to start, indicating that you do have some communication with the car/module.

Do you have a second key? I can only guess here but keys do die off.

I tried the second key but still the same. Locks/unlocks the doors but doesn't start. Was told if the batteries are low they will lock/ unlock but will not start. So will try a new set of batteries and see how it goes

I believe if the batteries are low it won't unlock/lock but start regardless.

It makes sense. Will give the new batteries a try though. I've read of the guys in the UK having lots of immobiliser problems.

Remo it's hard to believe but it seems a new set of batteries has cured the problem. It's been a week and all is well. Will update if it acts up again
