99 c230k ac problems

OK , so my ac won't blow cold , at first when I looked at it the compressor clutch was not engaging , so I ran a wire from my battery to the compressor and it engaged no problem , so next i tried putting freon in cause it looked low ( just below 25 psi ) but the system would not take any. So here I am lost now , what should be the next place I look at ?

Do you have access to a vacuum pump? If so, try vacuuming the system first (there is a recommended negative pressure that you can't exceed, I think it is 7 inches of vacuum) and see if the vacuum holds. If it doesn't, you have a leak and you'll have to find it and fix it first. Otherwise the Freon will leak back out. The compressor may have been disengaged automatically by a safety switch to "protect" it from a low Freon condition.
