I recently didn't use my C180 for just over a week and when I went back to it the battery was down to about 5V. I have managed to revive it and am still using it for now. I'd like to make sure I have all faults fixed before I fit a new battery.
The alternator is charging the battery fine but when the motor is off there is still about 300mA being drawn back. I have removed the fuses in the engine bay one at a time and the only one that made any difference was 27, dropping the draw down to about 200mA, possibly due to taking out the infra red key circuits?
The battery is a 62Ah so as 1 week is 168 hours (7 days X 24 hours) that would be 50Ah (168 hours X 300mA) the battery would be nearly dead with the drain I measured.
I still have to do the fuses in the boot to see if they have any effect, but does anybody have any idea on the normal current draw from the battery when the motor isn't running?
