Piggyback ECU tuning - Help

So thought I'll start experimenting with tuning since my 202 is more or less a tool for me to learn about cars.
Was thinking of running an Apexi AFC Neo, see how that goes and then maybe a AEM unit if things get serious (turbo conversion etc)
Currently a C200, trying to see if I can get this thing to run a little better. Its got new coils, maf, plugs and a few other things so electronics wise its pretty much a fresh slate. Only thing I can think of would be the fuel pump.
Any suggestions peps?

97and up ? are can bus style and would make a lot of pain in the a$$ from what ive read I can be wrong tho
I always thought get rid of all that stuff completely and run a completely aem or something
but then the cool m.b key would have no true security function and the cluster would be a bit of a pain to wire and program up unless you went completely bonkers on the car
