So its been almost 4 years since I've had a 202. There was a 203 and a 210 in between but I'm glad I'm back. Picked up a niceeeee champagne 99 280 with 131k.. Headliner just replaced and 4 brand new tires. A few things wrong though. Nothing major.1.the ac unit. It needs to be replaced the screen doesn't work. But when you shut it off it squeals until you turn it back on? 2. I need the handle for the sunroof, anyone have a pn? 3. Both mirrors need to be replaced . the passenger one flops around and the driver is loose and glass is faded, anyone know of the cheapest route? Figured find used on eBay.

Welcome back and congrats on the C280. I put w210 blinking mirrors on my 202's. They are pretty cheap in eBay these days ($100each) and updates the car.

So you got actual mirrors? If I remember I thought they were just mirror cover but they are actually 210 mirrors and they fit? If that's the case that's probably around the same price and some 202 mirrors.

Regarding 210 mirrors, are there different applications to watch out for? Like do some have heated elements, and will my dimmer function still work?

I might just buy new glass and put adhesive on the assembly because the housing is perfect just flops around from not being stuck to the car.

You could go to a junk yard and pick up some mirrors although I think the 97 and below doesn't have the heated cable so you would have to find a 98 and above to pick and pull at, but ebay is also one of the cheaper ways, just make sure it has 2 inserts for the cords one for heating the mirror and one for moving the mirror.

I might do that it's just the glass. But the houseings are loose where they fold. Is there supposed to be adhesive?

They clip on, so the tabs might be broken if they are loose and don't stay on.

Shit guess I'll have to get the whole thing. And get it painted unless I can find gold ones.

Now on to the HVAC. The screen is shot so I'm replacing it regardless, but it whines when I turn it off. I need to keep it on everywhere I drive so it doesn't make noise. Anyone seen this?
