hi ya guys new to the forum (couldn't find a new member part)

few months ago i bought this thing 2942
c250 td 245K miles loads of bils etc

then the gear box stopped serlecting gears after being parked up for a few weeks wile i waited for the tax class to be changed by the dvla so i could tax it, i change all the oil, filter, and sills on the pug on the box
with no joy so then moved my attention to the shiftier stripped and cleaned that up and still no change or tho made a slight difrance so then i plugged it up to a scanner 2943 and bingo sector duff swapped it all over for a 2nd hand one and now the starter motor has gone (same day as i fixed the selector  )

so the price of scrap is to low to scrap the thing and it ows me to much money to sell it at a massive loss so are the starter motors interchangeable between the models? or are the diesel ones stronger? so i can shop about/go down the scrap yard and get one. i'm now going to spend a bit of time looking at other members cars on here to try and get some mojo back for it
