Hey am thinking of getting a new head unit for my next w202. I am just gunna buy it now because i have some extra money. I still have my Pioneer deck that i bought like a month before i got in a crash but it dosent look how i want it to in the w202 dash.

Now i have seen Nakamichi head units in benzos before and they look best because they look almost stock, they also have some of the best sound quality.

Now i am looking at 2 diffrent units and i need to know what is better because they are the same price, so if any one knows please share, thanks

2)NAKAMICHI CD 400 2003 CD $299.00

Hey Jnolte

I've had the CD 45 for over 4 four years and i love it, It works great and never gone bad on me. I like the lo key look and it has everything i need. It really a fantastic HU, many of my friends have gone thru several HU during the time i've had mine.

I dont have any experience with the other nakamichi HU, but i am sure its just as great.

well the CD 400 is better.... it's a newer model that recently came out to replace the CD45..... :D

First, get your W202 first instead of buying a new head unit :D

Second, they are both about the same spec. I actually like the built quality of the CD-45Z. The CD-400 has 2 very nice new features:

1. illumination color selectable. In the CD-45Z, if you want different color, you have to swap the faceplate to a different one.

2. Antenna remote separate from amp remote. In the CD-45Z, if the unit is on(does not matter whether CD or radio), the antenna will get extracted.
The new one, the antenna only get extracted if the radio is on.
