Leather Dye hard wearing?

Hello all
Just purchased a full grey leather interior.
I would prefer it black and was wondering if using a dye to make it black.
BUT! my concern is durability and is the stuff actually a dye or just a paint?
Any advice would be great

I know some guys who had good result using SEM dye.
