I finally borrowed a laptop for my AutoTap. There are a couple of things that I noticed but the one that might need attetion first is that at idle it is reading 2 or 2.3% and at WOT and into the kickdown switch it is only reading 91.8%. ??? I would have guessed 0 and 100%. 2% could be to keep the engine running but not 100? Something is causing the timing to be very retarded. less than 10 Deg. below 5000 and wide open? In neutral its boucing between 2.5 and 5.5. Backing out of the gas at high RPM results in a jump to 34.5 then -3.5. I can't probably do much about the timing (other than onmount the knock sensor to see if that makes a difference) but it seems like there are a couple of adjustments to be made on the Throttle linkage. Any words of wisdom while I am waiting for my MB CD's to show up? If not, I probably won't be able to stop myself from some tweaking this weekend.;)

thats weird at WOT its only reading 91% it should be 100% because it just all out go!

Do you know what the voltage reading for your MAS sensor was at WOT?

Did someone say TPS Report???

  :D

I didn't log it. I happened to log MAP. at the bottom end of WOT it was reading 30.2"? My house was 29.92 and engine off it read 29.9 It was claiming +1%! At 6200 it ws 29.8. This weekend I'll log the MAF or Mas or whatever. I'll baseline everything.
Side note. I took out all of the slopn in the cable and it made no dif. With the engine off it consistantly was reading 3.5%. Letting it smack to idle resulted in a blip to 3.1%. Hmm, I need those manuals.:(

I took some more data today. OBD-II won't let me look at the MAS voltage or the TPS voltage. They are greyed out.:( Here is a slice when the timinmg finally advances :
Engine speed 5984 RPM 4992 RPM
Ignition timing adv. 24 Deg. 10.5 Deg.
Manifold absolute pressure 28.9 In Hg 29.2 In. Hg
Throttle postion angle 91.8% 91.8%
Mass Air Flow Rate 27.276 Lb./Min25.672 Lb./Min
Engine load 100% 100 %
Coolant 187Deg. F 187 Deg.
Intake air 59 Deg. F 61 Deg.
Long term fuel trim -2.3% -2.3%

I had 9.5 degrees at 3840 RPM! I think I could get away with more timing than that.

The TPS has supposedly been converted from a voltage by the ECU and sent to the scanner. The scanner says it should read 100???

This VB stuff drives me nuts. I hsad everything justified into col and look what it did. The first one is ~6,000 and the second one is ~5,000 RPM. Should have done them in the reverse. But I wanted people to see how little Advance I have at 5K. Waaa.
Some other interesting details is that this was in third with an outside air temp of 41 Degree F and the barometric pressure was 29.74. Intake air seems warm and There's apressure drop. I think J I. is correct about the CAI (cold air intake:D )
My engine just seems soft below 5K RPM.:o

Yes my C36 had the same problems, if it wasent WOT then it wasent really moving any where fast. My compression was really low and not all my plugs were firing. I also needed a new EGR valve
