fine dust inside instrument cluster?

I have a 95 c280.

My instrument cluster has some fine dust collecting on the (inside) left and right corners of the lens?

I've cleaned it once already, but the dust on the left side came back. :mad: (right side is still clean).

Any ideas why this is happening? (should I tape up the cluster seal before reinstalling it?)

Maybe your vent is open or need to change your doom filter.

but why should that affect the inside of the cluster? what's a doom filter?

Excuse me it's a cabin filter. It filter out the dust and give you fresh air. And it cost only $29 something at mercedesshop.com
or Importec.com.

Get the Carbon filter and a little sealing isn't going to hurt anything. Hmm, my 95 at 100k is spotless. Makes me wonder where the dust is really comming from? It's amazing how much dust can collect under the dash. One of the lights isn't pulled? Like the CEL?

Yeah my old 1995 C36 was spotless too!! i wonder if your seal is cracked somewhere?:beard:
