I've seen those auctnios before. I would rather make my own, plus it seems easy for your car due to location of the airbox and the simplicity of design.

i doubt it will even help performance, it may even take away!!

My gut feeling goes with DLS and J. For instance where does it suck the cold air from? When they say composite it doesn't mean squat. Glass filled nylon and concrete are composites. Do what J Irwan did if youre not worried about water.

yeah, i have my own DIY intake right now but it was only supposed to be a temporary setup and im looking for a more permanent solution. i used flexible dryer vent as piping and that doesnt really work out in the long run. ive tried looking for steel or aluminum piping at home depot/lowes but i havent found anything yet. where can i get some metal pipes?

Go to an industial supply place or go online or whatever. You can get accordianed aluminum tubing in all sorts of sizes. Auto stores sell small dia. version of this for intake air preheaters on old carborated cars. The stuff is real durable. You can cut it and shape it and tape it.

I agree, that's far from being a cold intake system. I would go to your local exhaust shop and have them mandrel bend you a real cold intake tube with an extension to around where the lower fog light is.

denlasoul: thanks denlasoul. i remember taking a look at it a couple months ago when i first made my intake. isnt that tubing he used essentially the same thing as aluminum flex pipe?

cklasse: sorry, im going to stay short ram to be on the safe side. im going to assemble a frame/heat shield to isolate the intake as much as possible though.

moebiusgold: can you name some industrial supply stores other than the home depots and lowes? i dont know any other ones.
