How stuff works can help you with a lot of your questions.

You should take a listen before passing any kind of judgement.

Yo J, I get the feeling that most people buy stereo equipment without listening...but really that's the most important thing you could do. Find a shop that you think you might work with, and ask them to get a demo of the components you're interested in. Only once you hear do you actually know.

This is a common problem with people only knowing "main stream" brand. When they heard brand that is not "famous", they don't care.
A lot of high end brands, they are not "famous"

What is the base of your argument?
I have listened to both subs and I like IDMAX better.
Of course, this is a very subjective argument made by me by owning the IDMAX for about 1 year and listened to my friend's W6v2 for about 10-20 hours.

This depends alot on your amplifier and how you will wire your subwoofer.

You need to learn about how things works and how will the wiring works.

And look for the amp that could produce around 1000 watts at that impedance (ohm)

JL Audio can suck it. Image Dynamics are the shitz, they rock, the IDmaxs are insane, my buddy has two of them and will blow the w6s away.

yes, they hit very tight no boomy sound, they're very accurate and can keep up with fast beats. They will not give you that 1 square mile range of bass, but inside the car they are very nice and musical.

both are the same, depends on what kinda amp your gonna to use and how much power you have to offer. Generally you want to try to feed as much power as the sub can handle.

Ohms are used to manipulate the watts from the amp. On amps the lower the OHMs handling the more watts you can get from the amp.

Example. an amp offers 50 watts at 4 ohms. At 2 ohms the amp offers 100watts. at 1 ohmw the amp offers 200 watts. then at 1/2 ohm the amp offers 400 watts.

You have to check what the amp id stable at thou, most amps are stable at only 2 omhs.

the ohm ratings on the subs can be manipulate to get a lower ohm to get the most out of the amp. It all depends on the wiring and ohm ratings of the sub thou.

Hopes this help some.

:)

So before you go buys your sub make sure you know which amp your gonna to get. and vice versa.
