Hi guys,

Has anyone ever modify the auto adjustment when you shift to Reverse gear? So that when you put on the Reverse gear, the passenger side mirror turn all the way down so you could watch the curb when you are reversing.

yes that would be nice, but i like the new screens and cameras so you dont even have to look behind you when backing up. But it would take some getting used too..

Off the top of my head since you have 210 mirrors is that you would need the memory motors from the 210 as well as the convience relay from the 210 that deals with the memory seats.

Probably some other stuff as well. Btw, does the 210 even do this?

yeah, I had that feature on my 89 735i.... really miss it, along with the folding side mirrors :(

it's standard on our 208.

I believe on the newer mercedes (208, 211, 203, 211), it is a standard option.
I believe it is just a relay... but I could be wrong....

I'm pretty sure it's easy to do.

Just matter of getting the signal from the reverse gear, and then send a signal to the miror (the same one when you press the down button for your miror) for like 3 seconds. And then back up for 3 seconds so that it goes back to the same position.

Can't wait to get my car to try this stuff on it.

i wonder how long the motor in the mirrors will last with that feature compared with no feature lol
how often do you guys adjust your mirrors once set? ;)

All of the newer Mercedes has this option and I don't think this is a common problem.
I really think this option is very valuable (at least for me) :)

My mom's 740i has this feature and I actually find it pretty annoying. But then again, I don't really trust mirrors much. I check everything with my eyes.

Not ALL new mercedesses have this feature,,,in the US most of them do - but in europe definitely not. Get in a C240 or C coupe (in the US that is) and you most probably miss the downgoing reverse mirror...it is a MEMORY DRIVER SEAT feature and is triggered by the 4 additional wires that come with the 7pin connected memory adjustment motors (where as the non memory mirror motors only have a 3pin connected motor).

Unless you find a way to simulate the driver seat memory control module...you will have a hard time creating something that works (I have a memory pass side motor with wiring through the door into the car but never got to a memory simulating relay that will work)...

That's one feature I really missed from our old 89 535i. Unfortuantely it's a lot more involved then ppl realise. In the Bms, the mirror motor is totally different so the control module knows its relative position. A different harness with more pins is also required.

If they don't even offer memory seats on W202s, let alone electric mirrors with memory witn the parking function.....

So I live with it, at least the mirror switch is easily accessed while you are parking the car.

My 99 C280 doesn't have this, but my wife's 94 Audi 100 wagon does and I like it.
