since K&N is bad for the engine due to grease, what is the second choice filter, that does the best job

When people talk about K&N's being over oiled and messing up the MAS, they're usually talking about drop in OEM replacement panel filters. Not the cones.

Also, the oil issue is directly due to either...

1. Too much oil
2. Oil on wrong side of the filter
3. Both

I have been using K&N filters for over 10 years, never with any issues. Also used both a cone filter and drop in filter on my C36, never any issue with the MAS

i tried staying away from a K&N and just went to get the least oily cone filter there was. i ended up going to pepboys and getting some APC filter.

after trying OEM and the MAF still going out, i am going to try a k&N filter, some people say that if you dont oil it too much the maf is fine so i may give it a go, i wonder if there are any realy Hp gains, maybe like4 to 5?
