Rpm Malfunction

What's the probable cause for the rpm to malfunction?
I just noticed it tonight that my rpm is not working so where do I start checking? Thanks :( :bored: :confused:

I know John from that shop and he's a nice guy. However your suggestion is just like asking me to dig more deeper into my piggy bank. They're not cheap you know coz I had my E-class service by them and cost me $1100... :( :(
