I was wondering if it is possible or logical to replace my C220's Instrument panel-buttons, knobs, etc. from maybe a C230K or Sport C280? How much would it cost? Call me crazy if you want, but I am getting tired of my C220's instrument panel. I just really like the sporty look as I am planning to replace all the wood with CF.

You can replace the trim panels on any MB with panels from the same year (door trims are a different shape after 1997) . These are available from the stealership at great expense or if you try someone like MikeC200 or MBenzNL they will probably have the panels for your car (they soak up all the ebay.de items! ) . The faux-cf panels look slightly different depending on the year of the car (3 changes I think) so make sure you ask for the right ones! :)

Hi

what year is your car??
you got old or new style buttons?
if you got a old style cluster with the 2 pins(adjust knobs) left and right from the spedo meter Forget get that mod.

If you got a new style cluster with the buttons left and right from it you can mod it

Dont forget the exterior B pillar covers and the monochromatic look of the bumpers, side molding and door handles.

I bought a used C230 clusters and moved ONLY the FACES onto my 1995 clusters. Few things are abit out of place.. but overall, I am happy with it... just remember to tape the C230's MIL light as the pre-OBD2 MB has 'check engine light' instead.

Good luck

Sorry for the misinterpretation, but I meant the whole dash-hazards, un/lock, headrest buttons, radio, etc.

That piece is around 60-80 bucks at the dealer. Plastic CF look is ALOT cheaper than the 350 dollar wood piece

Thas cool. Thanks. But the thing is if the dealer would have any for the 96 C220 dash. Did they make the Plastic CF dash trim for the 96 C220? I guess they stick over the existing wood trim?

Hyperion,

MBNL is selling CF dash trim kit for W202... for around $200. It comes in full set with few options. Hit him with an email!

If you have the single ding climate control then yes you can switch it.
