Does anyone know if removing the resonator increases HP or performance?

thx

someone has done this.

He replaced the resonator with straigh pipe.

No real performance gain, just a bit more rumble sound at idle.

Do a search, you should find the thread...:)

i took mine out n just had them put piping in its place...it gives more rumble as jirwan posted, but i dont notice any performance gains...it makes my 4 banger sound somewhat like a v8!! w00t

Given my experience I do not believe you will benefit beyond a louder exhaust sound. I gained 22 horsepower at the rear wheels when I added a Kleeman rear muffler and a 3" cat back exhaust without the resonator. However, my c230 Kompressor is equipped with a Kleeman pulley kit and has a chip. Without intake modifications I do not think you will see much benefit.
