i just put my rims on linea sport 18x9.5 with 32mm offset and 265/35 tires and it has a slight rub when i go over big bumps and certain driveway angles...how do i get rid of this...the fender looks flat on the inside so i don't see how rolling it would help cause there is nothing to roll.....i got this particular set up to go as large as i could without rolling...would an alignment take this out......by the way my car is stock height...i havent installed the springs yet it looks lowered there is like a 1 inch maybe half inch gap in rear....it looks awesome but i can't figure out why my car looks so low when its stock?.......how can i stop the rubbing...?

first you need to observe where is it rubbing at..?

Bumper part..? Fender lips...? or the inside wall..? etc..

Even the rear has no "fender lip" with fender roller you still should be able to pull out the fender more for as much as roughly 0.5" ;)

You shouldn't be using that tires size. You should have 255/35/18.

It is too wide man! You can try fender rolling and wheel spacer also if the rubbing is inside the wheel well.

265/35/18 with 18x9.5 will fit just fine on W202 rear with the correct offset.

Also certain tires brand will rub due to the thick sidewall design for rim protection ring (ie: Bridgestone S03, Bridgestone S02, BF Goodrich TA-KD, etc).

By the way Joe what kind of tires are you running with those Linea...?

Might want to try putting some chalk on the tires and then purposely drive so they rub... then you can see where it's rubbing in the fender.

Yup, one of the reason your rubbing is the offset is not correct. Its probably to late to return and too expensive to correct. So Id roll the fenders like most members suggested.

** Im running 18x10 on the rears. My problem was the rim stuck out 10mm. So I paid $$s to have metal shop custom shave 'em to correct offset, not to mention how to correct the balance of the wheels. Once that was done, my car ran perfect. NO RUBBING!!I can go through speedbumps, hard corning, with passengers, NO RUBZ and tires/rims are flushed evenly with the fenders (front and back).

Good Luck!

PS - I dont have pics, but Im sure one of the members (particulary Brabus) may have a pic of my car from old GTG.

Etienne,

Sorry man, I serously dont have a single pic of my car. Not much into taking pictures (reason, too lazy!).

I was fortunate enough to see pics of my own car (taken by another member) at the old benzsport forum.

Ill try to take some in the near future if Brabus can not find em.

BRABUS: You still have the pics from our GTG at Coyote Point? If so, can you please post those pics, along with the Jaguar XJ220.

Thanks Bro!!!

hey man..

you could always buy a disposable digicam :p

its not that expensive I don't think.. :D

Btw so what is the current offset of you back wheel (after shaved).. Also are you running 265/35/18 or 255/35/18 and what brand and model tires do you have on..?

I've seen Wess' black C43 with SL2 pc staggered wheel, but I can tell that the wheel have been shaved, although those wheels still stick out just a little from the fenders..

it seems there is some inner fender liner that has some type of bevel in it.....i think this comes out, i will try to take this out and see if it works....by the way when i ordered the wheels i ordered what i thought was the correct offset based on a thread on this forum....the wheels where made with those specs in mind....so this is not some type of ghetto rig job....

has anyone taken out this inner fender liner in the rear...and if so did it make a difference.....cause if it gives me the clearance i need...i might lower it an inch or so...

pirelli p7000 supersports in this size.....

the fronts have 215's to avoid rubbing but look like rubber bands and BARELY fit across my 8 inch rim....

i have 1 off topic question
can the stock amg rims on c36 fit 235 for front ?

Like I said the best way is to inspect where its rubbing instead of guessing..!!!

on my 1997 c36 there is no plastic liner (at leat not the whole wheel well). The plastic liner is only a section just to protect fuel line(on passenger side) from gravle and rocks.. :)

also 32mm with 9.5 width is the correct offset for W202 application..

but understand this....since this is an agressive offset application, you might need to readjust the bumperm and roll the remaining fender-lip on the rear.

below is a picture of BBS-LM 18x9.5 with ET32mm (as you can see clearance is minimal) with 365/35/18 kumho tires

after all you have to put effort to make something works, that's why if you look at any other application for W202, there is no 9.5 width application for the back...
and thats for the reason since 95% mod enthusiat are not willing to go through the extra effort to make wider wheel works.

There are a lot people already with BBS-LM 19x9.5 (yes 19 inch) has their W202 with 265/30/19
and there is also some member with 19x10 (10 inch wide) on their W202 as well

And all of these required very carfeull inspection and willingness to find out away to make it works ;)
(now we are here to help you, but we can't help if we don't know which part that rubbed)

So don't get discouraged..yet

Also are you saying yours is rubbing right now without lowering..?
Or you car is lowered..?

i hear what you are saying....i actually used those pics for inspiration in making out some of my decisions(you will soon see since my car looks very similar).....but, again my car is becoming problematic....it is NOT lowered yet and it still rubs....in the rear that is....i want to lower it an inch but right now that doesn't seem feasible....so i will try to get under my car this weekend...i'll let you know whats up....

Would 16 x 9's ET 35, back only, pose any problems on a non-lowered car ( 2000 C 230 K )?.

I'm currently running Borbet Type "E" 16x7.5 with 225/50/16 & want to go staggered 245/45/16 in the rear.
225's look a little " under-tired " from the back. ;)
