View Full Version : Whats the trick to getting the rear rotors off?

I took the wheel off, the caliper off, but cant get the rear rotors off. What is the trick. I removed the small allen screw, but they are still on tight. Let me know the secret.

Keep rotating it too.
Oops. I thought you were talking about the front rotor.
Never had my rear ones off. ;)

There is a hole with a gear type thing inside of it. You need a flat head and move that gear to release your service brake from the rotor.
Then when you install the new one you need to move that gear back to realign the service brake.

Nokia- Is the hole I took the allen bolt out of, or the other hole. If it is the other hole, it must be way back in there. please let me know.

From what I read, look through one of the wheelstud holes, spin the rotor slowly until you can see the star adjusterwheel.
Reach in with a long blade screwdriver & loosen it. ;)
