I called the Mercedes dealership a while ago regarding a service CD, and they said that since the W202 is still somewhat newer, they haven't released an official CD yet.

The Haynes manual is available, but I believe it is only for the 4 cyl models. I suppose it would be useful for all kinds of other stuff IE brakes, suspension, electrical..etc

I have the Mitchell CD and I'm not really impressed either. It has some decent wiring diagrams, I'll give it that.

To get the real MB CD you have to join MBCA (http://mbca.cartama.net/index.php?s=)

my car is a 1995 c280 (w202) w/ bose sound system.

The info I got is for that year and model. not sure If it will be what you want.

If you can be are more specific on what type of info you need, I will send it to you for free.(if I have it)

example info are :

installing amg kit
installing illuminated sills
radio wiring diagram, legend and connectors
alarm wiring diagram, legend and connectors.
and more...

....or you can just pay the $20 to startekinfo, enter your VIN and search through the pages for specific info for your vehicle. (You will not be disappointed).

(you must first install the neccessary applications which will allow you to view the CAD diagrams on your pc.)

After you download the CAD programs, it is possible to save via PDF so I can use them after my day is up? If that's possible I'll just make repair manual myself going to Kinko's and printing all the pages out and sectioning them off.

Does the StarTek info have how to do pretty much everything repair/maintenance-wise?

Thanks

Martin

yes, if you have adobe acrobat (full) installed on your machine you can simply print any pages to the virtual adobe pdf printer instead of a normal paper printer. (adobe pdf printer icon shows up in your print... dialog box)

it will create pdf files you can use later.

the site requires you to have the follwing apps installed:

Autodesk WHIP
JAVA Webstart
Adobe Acrobat Reader

These can be found on the site by clicking on "tech requirements" and following instructions.

also, after install, having firewall software enabled may cause problems connecting to WIS-Online (Workshop Information System). I found out the hard way.

yes, startekinfo has the very same info a trained MB tech would use. form wiring diagrams to whatever. You just need to search using keywords.

check out the site preview :

http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/preview.jsp

lastly,

A TIP. the info in the WIS-online is organized in tree structure. All connected.

for instance you might find a page on removing the cluster. On that page the steps could be :

1. remove the steering wheel | AR46.10.P-0100B.
2. pull out cluster. | AR54.30-P-6015-01Z

each one of these is a separate instructional document. (clicking on the document number to the right of the title will let you view it.)

also, any task that requires you to "remove the steering wheel"
will include a link to that same doc. (they made it so easy)

have fun.

I think I will get my friend in germany to send me a manual since he can get them. My mechanic here told me that it would cost about 4000 canadian dollars I assume those prices are in U.S dollars. i asked him if i could look at his well what do you think he said of course not since i would be takeing money out of his pocket, and he dosent want to be responcible for anything that i might screw up.

I think I will stick with the mitchell manual I have for now its better than nothing
