climate dials all messed up

I am not sure if i should call them climate contorl or dials. I have a 2000 W202 C230K. it has the dual dials type thing for AC/heat. there are 5 levels. usually the spot between 0 and 1 is for taking in outside air and 0 is off. but today, it just decided to skip a level. so now there isnt a off mode. when I put in 0, air would just come in and the spot betweet 0 and 1 is acutally lvl 1 fan now. what is happening? i would like to fix this myself, where should i start? Not sure if its vacum operated. However you could have a leak which would cause the vents from closing all the way.

To check it would require removale of parts of the console/dash area to double check.

I will try to post a break down of the dash later tonight.

its that serious man? i was thinking of something like just the knob thing was messed up. cuz every lvl got pushed 1 number down.. anyway, seeing the break down of ur post would be nice. thx.

try to push the button for inside air recycle only.

its all set now.. this morning i guess i push it too hard all the way up to 5 (defrost)... so i did it again and force it over the number 5 a little more.. and now its all set. nut it
