I was wondering if anyone knows where or who sell an automatic transmission for 94' mercedes C220. I have problem with mine and would like to get it rebuild or put a used one. Thanks for looking.
Cheers

I have seen a few transmissions on ebay for decent prices, although I am always sceptical that there might be something wrong with them. Who just has a mercedes transmission laying around unless its one of the thousands that fail in there cars.
Anyone ever think about a class action suit agains merecedes and crap transmissions in c class cars.

I have a 30 year old car that I pound on with 600hp and the tranny has never been replaced once and it was never built to the precision of a mercedes benz transmission i guess these things are just ment to fail huh ?
Oh yah for any smart ass coments like the tranny in that car was ment to take 600 hp well its not its a standard 350 tranny.
My dad has had over 30 cars in his life and never one transmission broke in any of them everything from novas to corvettes, jeeps everthing but he sayed away frome the european stuff, and told me to as well maybe i should have listened. yah it maybe a 10 year old car and it was babied since at the time of the transmission going it only had 80000Kwhich was 4 months ago which is less than 50000Miles.
All i am saying is i though merecedes built a better car, the stuff they claim on there website is that it should go 1000000 Miles.
other than the parts costing so much and the constant maintance its a awesome car and was well cared for
the other thing is 90% of my mercedes bashing is due to poor customer care my dealership is owned by lets say not the helpfullest people.

Take a deep breath.
My buddy has been operating an automatic transmission repair facility for about 25 years & I've never met anyone better than him at his job.
According to him, average life expectancy of a trannie is @ 150 - 200 k miles.
Some may go longer, some less, depending on the care/service, use/abuse they get.
Other than the infamous Chrysler Minivan transmission disaster, he says they're all about the same. ;)
As far as your 600 hp engine goes, please post a Dyno sheet. ;)

I will have to see if i have a dyno sheet,
1969 455 big block oldsmobile came in hurst olds and very high proformance olds
i think its a 7.4 L
high flow heads, header exhaust intake, awesome carb its a 4 barrel the first two barrels are quite small but the rear two are massive over 2.5 inches when you drop the hammer it goes down the road side ways at almost any speed, my dad is thinking about fuel injection on it for some more power
I will see if i can get a dyno sheet, or i will have to go to the shop and dyno run it

Impressive number. I used to run a dyno so, recognize sweet stuff when I see it. ;)
Surely, if your dad is running a turbo-hydramatic 350, it must have had some major work done to it.
I just don't see it taking That juice on a consistent basis for very long.

nope bone stock its had a 350 and a 403 bolted to it in the past, we where going to get a turbo 400 but we figured lets use this one that I have laying around the garage I have 3 engines in my garage right now so we just took a tranny and bolted it in its not rebuilt and its probally got about 160 000 Miles on
god for bid my engine goes I am going to bolt in a Chevy V8 in my W202 for some real power, a nice littel 405 hp unit plus i could buy it bran new for $4000 that pretty cheap compared to turbos or supercharges for the car.

i've seen some on
www.car-part.com
for around 5-600.
check your area for one.
the thing i don't like about buying from a junkyard is that you donno if it's working, and once installed and shows that it deosn't work, gotta take it out again and wasting time and labour costs. so thats just one thing to consider.
