it seems an excellent idea to have a palm and able to read all that info including Engine light codes but its supposedly only for 96 and up cars. i heard mbs in 95 were already OBD2. can u confirm this. will OTTOSCAN work?

as far as I know, 95 cars have a fully functioning obd II system... 94 cars also have obd II, but it is not a fully compliant version....

My 95 C220 is OBD II compliant. Any OBD II scanner should work.

There is a way to get a ton of codes via the AC unit by holding in some buttons.. it tells all sorts of stuff.. air temp at motor etc..

I think you can get the Otto Scan with a 38 pin diagnostic connector (X11/4). This allows you to see much more that OBD II codes. Like O2 sensor voltages, short term trim and more. Here is a good link on what scanning that port Vs. the OBD II port can do for you. X11 (http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_X11.html)
