OBD 2 codes

Does anyone out there have a comprehensive list of OBD 2 codes? The CEl for my '98 C230 just came on and the dealer wants big $ to put my car on a scanner. Also, can anyone recomend a good, user friendly scanner?

Well, I rest my CEL and so far it has stayed out. Thanks for the advice especially the web-link. Good info.

Well, 3 days later my CEL is back on. Like last time it happened at just below half a tank and my low fuel light started flashing as if the cap was loose. I removed and re-seated the cap which cleared the low fuel light but the CEL is still on. Any suggestions?
