I know its too late to say this, but this is my story. I glued my Reiger roof spoiler myself with the glue provided my reiger, and I did not drive my car for about 2 days so the glue really dry and stick firmly. a week after that I punched my 535 until 120 mph and the roof spoiler still there. How long do you have the roof spoiler until that thing flew on you, maybe the glue was not dry enough. I attached a picture of my bimmer with roof spoiler attached.

Bad installation during cold weather would do that! Sorry you had to experience it. I would go to your body shop instead of Rieger.

Either way, good luck

You should talk to the body shop!

my friend had the same problem. It took us 2 hours to glue it on on his bmw. It was good at first , then after 3 weeks he drove to serbia. And on the way there while driving through germany his roof spoiler just flew away , and was crushed into pieces by other cars running over it.

So sad... probably bad install not bad part... The part shouldn't affect that unless somehow it was warped

Quick reminder - I know that we all type fast on the Net and sometimes hit "Add reply" without proofreading, but it really bugs me when people use everyday words improperly.

Brakes - the things that stop our car, a bike, a train, etc. Usually consists of a pad of some sort against the moving wheel/rotor to create friction to slow the moving object down to a stop.

Not to be confused with BREAK, which means to separate into pieces of, detach, snap off, malfunction, etc.

And it's "right off" instead of "write off" - "write off" is usually associated with insurance or tax terms.

Take this with a grain of salt - it's not that I'm jumping on your particular case as I see this day in and day out, but it is disheartening to see the presumed failure of our beloved country's education system.

Back on topic - the roof spoiler should not have flown off had it been properly installed. I hear that the glue itself might not have been adequate, so 3M tape might have added the extra hold that you would have needed. ;)

spoilers...it is ALL in the installation...most spoiler manufactures right an instruction manual to go with the spoiler as far as the DOs and DONTs are to be concerned...

no offense this is a car website and there really is no need for an English lesson.;) i waited for 2 weeks and then i drove my car. i only take out my car on sundays just to go to work. all the other days i take out my other car to go to work. so its not like i drove it on the highway that same day when i got my car out of the body shop. i dont think it takes aroud 2 weeks for a roof spoler to dry up.:)

My M3 spoiler from eBay flew off the same way... unfortunately, I never notice when it flew off as I didn't even try to go fast, just a normal driving trip, after 3 days of letting it settle and dry. The m3 tape they provide (got mine from Revotec on eBay) is a piece of sh*t.

Please refrain from gluing or taping anything to your Mercedes, it may produce negativity toward the brand and/or cause harm/damage to others. :(

I had mine for 1+ year and it has gone through snow/ice/rain/wind (New England weather). I installed the roof spoiler by using double sided tape on a 85 degree day (rubbing alcohol cleaned the area). The shape of the spoiler is almost like it hooks on to your rear window. I don't see how it can just break off by going 90+, unless the spoiler is really defective or a bad installation.

I would also have to say this was caused by shotty installation. I didnt want to use the tube of the black german car glue to put my Rieger roof spoiler on, so I just double taped the $hit out of it. I didnt use the regular 3M stuff, I used the super heavy duty tape that id tested to hold X amount of lbs. I have done 120-140 mph runs all the time and my roof spoiler is on there perfectly, no signs of it comming off. Going as fast as you were, it shouldnt have come off like that. The only roof spoiler that i've heard of comming off was an AC Schnitzer roof spoiler off an E46 M3, he went 170mph and it flew off. Whoever put your spoiler on, didnt install it properly.
