I got cut off and ran off into a curb and a parked car by a '02 Yukon on 24's towin a trailer w/ 4 wheeler in the back. Here are the pics. $4,800 so far and work hasnt started on it yet.....

Opinion: Should I go ahead and pay extra to have the whole car re-shot or just let the insurance cover that side?

I'm thinkin on getting the handles sprayed body color and my new AMG front clip wont be drilled for the plate holder(YES!) I wont need one as I will be re-locating to CA or AZ pretty soon for work!

Funny that this is in "Body Mods" ;)

Glad you're ok, my man. You're gonna need front plates for CA, though I run without them. I've accrued 10+ fix-it tickets for it already, though - at $10 a pop, it's not that big of a hit. ;)

Whud up Luwin, yhea I thought it would be OK to stick in the body section for kicks. I was in LA the 1st week of March and didnt notice too many front plates. Here in TX its like $80 when you get busted! We passed through in my buddies Civic from TX. We checked out Phoenix/Flagstaff also. Got a internal phone interview for LA job tommorow. I'll keep you guys posted on my Westward progress so I can meet up and have some local friends! My C36 is on the market to sell, but it will take 4-8 weeks to fix & I might just have a fresh painted 202 for Cali soon!

Everybody thinks and says LA is expensive to live buuttt.......

Houstons toll road authority gets $60 a month from me to get to work on the 'beltway' X12 mos thats $720 a year!

Average Houston house pays $3,500 a year in property taxes

We have no state income tax but property taxes are terrible here. I heard a AZ or Cali house is only like $1,500 a year?

Gas is cheaper here($1.84 93 octane) but the weather/scenery sucks!

Are my imagestation links down???? My car looks like ass - just wait or try back to see my fugly C36

hey, sorry to hear about the wreck. i had a collision last week on the same side. just a few dents on the fender. someone stopped really hard infront of me and i couldn't stop so i turned left slightly and hit a car next to me.

i checked into an aftermarket fender, it's 40 something bucks. which is pretty cheap. you bumper looks fixable. new headlight and side lights arent' too exp either in the book. :)

i got my first one a few months ago but i am goin to tommorow to sign it off. I figure $10 is a donation to the police for doing such a fine job. haha

Luwin they dont ask why you keep getting fixit i would think they double the fine or something to keep repeated offender from doing it again.

744 is color code for silver, and 040 is for black. I dont know the others off the top of my head

you guys need to donate to the Fraternal Order of Police fund. In Chicago, they give you a little emblem to stick on your car. Typically they let you go for minor violations. I think they have the same thing here in WA.

I don't believe fix-its go on your record. And I've gotten them from different departments/cities. Downtown LA is the worst!!!!

Damn, I hope not!

The offenders insurance wont start work for 15 more days on the car since they cant get ahold of the actual owner. Today they sent certified mail to get ahold of her. by TX law if she dont respond back in 15days, my car gets fixed from that point on! The owner didnt get a scratch and tried fleeing the scene until I put my foot down! I might have to get my insurance company to 'subjugate' the damages and get started cause I aint got a rentel yet. - sucks driving friend Civics & Explorers.

cian36,

Flagstaff is cool man, it was 90 in Phoenix & 2.5 hours later it was 50 degrees after climbing to 7K feet - awesome rice rocket ride If you own one. We were 1 week early for Havasu - damn it:mad:

Well, it looks like I might be getting more $ out of this since my car will be 'de-valued' by the wreck. Depending how much less my car is worth I will get a cash devaluation credit along w/ repairs taken care off! My good friends that own the highline lot that sold me the car are instructing me on how to negotiate this with the ins company. People are due this, but most never pursue or ask about it! Since my car is one of only 338 made in '96 it should pan out nicely in my favor?

so how's it going now??

Three Point 6

Brabus,

Dunno yet, but I will probably be relocating to the OC in the next 60 days! I may have to fly back to Houston and drive my car back West since it may not be finished in time - What a busy month!

I dont want my drivers side only painted. Is 744 hard to match? My trunk lid & roof are perfect. I may have both sides and the hood re-sprayed to clean up all the dings and chips to maintain consistancy. Its crazy cause 1 week before the wreck I had dropped off my tow hook covers for a redo(flaking). Now, a new bumper should come with the covers I think.

Brabus, it looks like your stock door handles are repainted 744 body color? How about your window trim? Does anybodies C36's have gloss trim instead of the factory flat black?? I'm thinking gloss trim and door handles also. Buuttt.....I'm no gajillionare so I might leave it flat and door handles black unless I get some 'deminished' value cash out of this wreck.
