Just for the hell of it.
Buy a can of electrical contact cleaner, take the MAF off, spray it real good & re-install it.
Might cost you 5 or 10 bucks, but it's worth a try. ;)

I agree with Manny.

Purchase "electrical Contact cleaner", the non residue type which is ok for plastic.

Spray the MAS liberally with it removed.

Allow it to dry thoroughly and then re-install.

Before starting the car I would reset the ECU, which can be done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 15-20 minutes. (Note:" you may loose radio settings or power seat settings so have radio codes handy if applicable).

After re-installing the battery you should see the MAS did not trigger the CEL to come on... And you will probably notice the car performing better... ;-)

I always wonder when the CEL comes on why dealer arbitrarily tell people to replace the airflow sensor, yet they never offer to give you back the old one..... Believe me, more people replace MAF sensors than necessary...

Cheers,

Fern

yeah, i tried that once and it worked for a month and the meter went bad again, but its probably because it was an original one (8 years old), but yeah try that. otherwise, check out www.germanstar.net
