hey all,
ok, my headlight has been cracked for a while now (rock on the pike :rolleye and when it was first hit, it was just a small "spider web" crack. Then overtime, it cracked in a line upwards. Been like that for months now.

this past week, we had a few days of heavy heavy rain and I just noticed that there is condensation inside the lens and droplets of water. I see there's a "pin-sized head" hole there where the rock hit now and i'm guessing is where the water is entering or air is getting into.

is this "dangerous" at all for the condensation to be there? I'm not due for another oil change for about 3k miles and asked my SA about replacing the lens before...$130 for the lens (not too bad). Do I have to immediately replace it or can it wait?

Thanks!

I am probably going to call up my SA tomorrow and see what they can do or suggest for now. I actually asked my SA last time I was in for service about replacing it (it wasn't that bad like now) and I asked about just the lens replacement. Apparently, the lens is a new thing, before you had to replace the entire headlamp assembly...$$$$.

Here's the part number: 202 820 6366

My SA said $130 for parts & labor.

Good luck!

lol, no problem. yeah, give them that part number and see what they say about it.

my SA said the same thing until I gave him the part number and said that they just started making them for 94-96's.

good luck!

hmm...either they don't know what they're talking about or just didn't look up the part number.

I had my SA look up the part number I gave him and it said headlight lens for 94 - 96. Even before I gave him the part number, he said "oh yeah, there's this new supplier that makes the lenses for the earlier c-classes, as before was just for the later c-classes".

Try a different dealer perhaps...
