mirror flops around [Archive]

So my passenger side mirror flops around. Im guessing something broke off. A trunk hit it. I did a search and read some V shaped shiney thing creates tension. I dunno where it goes and checking the drivers side Im afraid im gonna bust it. Any pics or info would be appreciated. Thanks.

if it gets hit possibly the cover just came off lose all you gotta do is push it back in but when you do you gotta push on the little springy metal part for it to go back into place
now i'm assuming the glass part is not shattered or anything
but it's common well at least in my experience with 96 w210 same mirrors as 202 stock ones

I think its broken. I guess Ill start looking around for a new one. :(
