my car is dropped on H&R and its about 1.6 drop in front with pads, and it stil leaves a huge fender gap in front which i do not like, im sure that would work out for you

Vogtland springs will drop your car about 35mm(1.3"), plus they are on sale right now for under $200 (http://www.pure-motorsport.com/products/description.php/II=45)

I agree Eibach doesn't really drop the car as much as H&r's but has good ride quality.

wut about coilovers? any thoughts on this?

kinda reluctant to go w/ eibachs -- had them on my integra and civic -- prokit and sportline -- and w/ both had saggin issues after about a yr where the car sat another .75 - 1 inch lower than supposed to.

never had h&r but i've noticed that it seems to be a popular brand w/ european cars...

If u wanted a smaller drop with good ride quality for longer trips then go with the Eibach. H&R is a stiffer ride and also drops the car lower. Brabus springs are said to not sag any but maybe some members with some can vouch for this?!?!

i plan on putting 18" monos on my c. and i'd like to at least have a 2 finger gap all around. I drive over 100 miles a day, so if i go any lower -- =( too much wear!

MrSpace -- i'd appreciate it if you can let me know how things turn out with the eibach!

There is not coil-over setup for W202, because it doesn't have strut design setup to begin with ...

but if you're referring to adjustable threaded spring perch , there is no one make those for W202, W208, W210.

However one member here has the adjustable spring perch in which he had it custom (1 of) and he paired them with customer length Eibach spring...

Here is my car dropped with H&R sport spring and Koni Yellow Adjustable shock.

oooo nice car...

i think that's too low -- i will go with the eiback 1.2 drop - figure after it sets in, it'll be 1.3 ~ 1.5 in the end.. hope they don't sag after a yearr - like it did before on my integra! HA!

I just installed my wheels today, had some problems (the bolts sent weren't the good ones, 2hrs and 84$ later I had bolts and a new wrench because the adaptor did not fit in the mercedes wrench.

Anyways, all this to say i won't be able to put on the eibach today. It's scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

I bought eibach and koni adjustables used, so you'll see the drop AFTER any sagging. Note that I am not changing spring pads for now, I'll see what the drop looks like, and then maybe try dofferent spring pads setup.

I'll keep you updated

Please does the koni adjustable (yellow/sport) come with direct regulation or do you need to dismount them (as the koni red/special model)?

Thanks

what do you mean dismount? dismount what? the shock from the car? the shock itself?

If you are asking whether they need to be removed to adjust, then yes. The setup of the suspension does not allow the strut to be adjusted from the top.

I am getting ready to put H&R springs on my 99C43. Am I going to experience problems with camber and alignment from doing this. I put H&Rs on my Passat 4 motion and it required nothing special and the ride was fine afterward with no camber problems etc.

Yes BoominBenz. Thanks.

But I had a look at koni internet site, and I've contacted Koni Factory (by e-mail) a new model with adjustable set up from the "installed" position should be available in few time. Please check Koni american site: http://www.koni-na.com/ ...."Externally adjustable option. Available September 2004"
I'm waiting for this.

Thanks for your replies.

c_lee

please look at the other thread which has some information on spring pad thickness.

how much you can lower by switching pads == not much.. (also depend on what pad are you on at the moment.)

the first siginifcant drop need to be done correctly by using lowering spring kit ...

hope this helps.

There is mine on used Eibach + koni adjustables.

That's with stock pads (#4 front, #? rear) and 18" wheels.

There is a one horizontal finger gap both front and rear. I plna on putting thinner spring pads to lower a little more.

Just perfect before height before star loading ICE into the trunk :D:D:D

If you 're planning to installe ICE that donlt touch the back, once you have the ICE, it'll drop about 1/2 " more
