Consequences of painting door handles

Well a couple of days ago some one backed up into both my right doors… so the car will be going to the body shop, so I thought it was time to upgrade the looks a bit … I got the model 98+ side skirts, Rieger front and rear add-ons with splitters for both, eyelids, Rieger window spoiler and M3?? trunk spoiler… I was thinking of painting the door handles as well?? Will they peel is there a special way of doing it??

i hope they won't because I'm getting mine also painted next week or the other.

i've seen painted handles twice and both where peeling. do yourself a favor and drop steve (mbenznl) a line and order some color coded handles from him. i did it a while back and love the look.

if sanded and primed properly, nothing should peal. it's all about the the way it is done. most body shops just prime, paint or sometimes, just paint
so gotta watch out for that.

well thankyou for ur feed back, well about ordering stuff it is still quite a hassel here in lebanon we have to pay ridicules taxes...

You can get the W210 part pre painted from MB i believe.

I have seen a lot of painted doorhandles that peel...I have seen a few painted doorhandles that don't peel (yet) as well...it is all in the quality of the painter...which usually ends up being almost as expensive as the factory painted doorhandles...

Get OEM painted handels!!!! Nothing matches OEM and it's probably equal in price. Get in touch with Steve for a set of handles!

there is a base paste or a kind of a paste should be instaled before painting the plastic to avoid peeling.
