HPS TO DEBUT ALL-NEW SUPERCHARGER SYTEMS FOR 1998 AND NEWER V8 BENZES

Same World-renowned quality, More Power, and Intercooling at a Value-Driven Price Highlight New Supercharger Systems

SANTA ANA, Calif. — High Performance Systems, LLC (HPS), the company specializing in the world's finest supercharger systems for Mercedes-Benz automobiles, announced that they will be launching an all-new lineup of supercharger systems for most 1998 and newer V8 models.

The systems will be even more potent than before, but at the same value-leading price point that HPS has become known for. Highlights include:

· Magnusson fifth generation MP112 Eaton supercharger
· Water-to-air intercooling system
· Peak boost up to seven pounds per square inch (psi)
· Supercharger whine significantly reduced

The system will be available for all V8-powered Mercedes-Benz vehicles including C-, CL- CLK-, E-, G-, ML-, S-, SL- and SLK- Class models. Customers can expect power gains of up to 150 horsepower, with low-end torque gains to match. Pricing for the new systems will start at $6,995.

“From an engineering standpoint, these new systems are truly works of art,” said Bill Kavadeles, HPS program manager and vice president of engineering. “We listened to what our customers were asking for, and then performed all the R and D to make it happen. We took a great product and made it even better with more power, better cooling efficiency, and a dramatic reduction of NVH associated with the system.”

The HPS supercharger system uses a Roots-type compressor that maximizes supercharger power and efficiency. Roots-type superchargers produce high output at low levels of boost, and at low engine speeds, to eliminate supercharger lag. This also increases engine torque and horsepower throughout the entire engine speed range to redline.

HPS also employs a water-to-air intercooler to keep charge temperature down and maximize power gains.

All HPS system components meet or exceed Mercedes-Benz’s own high standards. Factory appearance and quality, high reliability, and quiet operation – all are hallmarks of HPS engineering.

Customers can opt for a fully-underwritten warranty for extra protection. Weekend mechanics can perform the install themselves, or can choose to have a fully-licensed HPS installer do the work. HPS has dozens of installers around the U.S. as well as internationally.

“We're an engineering company, but we're also highly customer focused,” said Adam Follman, vice president of sales and marketing. “We know that the only way to keep customers coming back, and to get new customers in the door, is to maintain a constant dialogue. Once we figure out what our customers want, we give it to them. It's really that simple.”

Customers can expect the new systems to go on sale in the next two to three months, and will be given release date specifics and updates on a regular basis through newsletters, emails, and through the HPS website at www.myHPS.com.

High Performance Systems, LLC is a privately held company that specializes in leading edge engineering for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. For more information call (714) 557-5310 or access www.myHPS.com.

HPS gets my vote for the most for the least $. Good work guys!
Now you need to offer a trans that can handle all that extra Torq. A manual would be sweet.:D

HPS,

In poking around your website my basic question is this. I assume the $5000 system until 7/1 is the first generation system. With the second generation system at $7000 what am I getting HP wise and/or other benefits? The first gen gave 100hp on the C43. The second gen claims "up to 150 hp" but doesn't really say which motor gave that power. Can you give me in layman's terms what I get please?

Thanks,

Duncan

I'm also wondering if this new system bolts to the manifold like the new AMG"S ?Now that would be sweet, because the intercooler is built in as well.

Hello DuncanM,

The new intercooled intake supercharger system will be patent. Once a patent pending is issued. (Any day now.) I can answer detailed questions about this product.

I hope you understand?
