72,000 mile C36....Got in a wreck last month after a Yukon stole my lane and forced me to jump a curb. My car is lowered about 2 inches so it ripped my bumper and did minor frame/suspension dmage to drivers side. It is back to specs according to Foreign Autobody here in Houston. They have an Aston DB7 an F355 and Range Rovers in their to give you an idea of the clientele. My Front seal is leaking a little before the wreck of course but no puddles. Now there is a palm sized puddle left after being driven or even moved around the shop.

Well the body shop says it was doing that before the wreck based on all the oil underneath the car.(duh) I had to explain that the M104 motor is notorious for this and how I 'know' my car since im under it doing my own oil changes etc; There are NO impact marks on the pan or underside whatsoever. Now I know there is a slight possibility that the leak got worse that night right before the wreck but come on! The glove didnt fit OJ's hand - plain and simple! There were NO stains on my garage floor before the wreck - now there is. The car is still at the shop getting finished and I expressed MAJOR concern about it to the shop foreman. He thinks an adjuster will not payout since it is so dirty under the car. Foreman said he would have the car high pressure sprayed and checked to see where the oil is dripping from. I'm thinking the impact might have jarred a hose or line somewhere. Also any one think the existing front seal leak could be made worse by a jarring impact to the curb?? Any ideas anyone on origination of leak like a plastic hose mount or metal line?? BTW - car has 72,000 miles - thats it. Oh yhea, i took my motor skid plate off to make oil changes easier but there are NO impact marks on aluminum pan or cradle. The leak is dripping from what it looks like the Trans back from the engine! It is black 'dirty' oil so I dont think its tranny/ps fluid??

Damage pics - sorry no underside pics yet

sorry to hear about that..there is nothing worse than getting into an accident and having someone deny the dammage like my insurance did to me...fight it and try to have them cover the damage..

Kylie,

Have you have you head gasket replaced..?

I have mine replaced already eventhough my C36 is a 97.. (which supposedly fitted with the revised gasket from the factory).

I notice a spot of oil drip on the garage floor that was never there before. That's how I realized and start checking that there is some leak surrounding the head gasket.. (not all though just the back part of the engine -- closer side to the firewall (the rear of the engine block) and some oil trace on the front timing cover.

I replaced the front timing seal along with the head gasket as well

C280, yhea I asked ny agent to fight the other company so I can get my $500ded back. Beatch azz munchkin lady cop didnt like me cause I kept walking away using my cell. She screwed up my accident report by putting on it 'unit 2 took faulty evasive action to avoid wreck' WTF???

J, Man, I got a quote of like $1,200 to do frontseal/head. I might have to get a second job as a bouncer in LA checkin ID's to pay for the thing to get right. I might fight Farmers & try & get them to write a supplement when I get to Cali on the leak but it prob wont be worth it??

On top of this, I'm movin to LA on the 27th and my car isnt done yet cause they are waiting on a clear corner and door mouldings! Im gonna have it back for like maybee 2 days before it gets strapped to the Uhaul trailer to head West!

Stressfull.....

Kylie,

That's about right.
Very close to my last bill (good thing its' paid by my aftermarket warranty.) The bill if I remember correctly was close to $1300..

Here (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2808&highlight=head+gasket) sort of info on my service history after I own the car. I believe there wasn't much done before I own it, since It was only a 3 years old car when I bought it :) .

When I had my heads resurfaced they found that the front seal thingie was leaking oil..had to replace that as well...i think it's semi common problem on the M104.

Farmers is really hard to get to payout I have heard from many people. My grandparents have had to take them to court, and had to threaten to take them to court again after another driver with farmers hit them. A friend of a friend had a house fire and farmers severely devalued the truck lost in the fire by using the lowest book value findable anywhere (I think the value was even of an older truck) and didn't factor in any additions to the truck even though substantial proof of the modifications' existence and loss in the fire was supplied.

Getting farmers to pay out will be tedious, but you should have faith that you will get them to cut you a check eventually, they pretty much flat out didn't pay my grandparents twice until they took a lot of action against them and not paying out unless someone bugs them enough seems to be their MO.
